About Narstar

Why the firm exists and how we work.

Narstar exists because of a gap. If you have a few thousand dollars to invest, the usual answer is an algorithm and a basket of funds, or a firm whose account minimum is far out of reach. Neither one puts you in front of a person who selects the companies you own and can tell you why they are in there.

So the firm was built for that middle. Real stock selection, one published rate, and a way in that does not require a balance most people will never have. It is a narrow service on purpose, and it is not for everyone. We do investment management and nothing else, the portfolios hold individual stocks that can fall in value, and for plenty of people a low-cost index fund is the better answer.

Narstar is fee-only. The fee-only structure reduces many common conflicts. It does not eliminate every conflict. Remaining conflicts are disclosed in Form ADV. See the portfolio overview or the fees FAQ for complete fee and account-minimum details.

We run three model portfolios, all individual stocks. Income focuses on dividend-paying companies selected for cash flow. Growth targets durable competitive advantages held long-term. Speculative takes concentrated positions in smaller companies.

Still comparing options? What fiduciary duty requires, what fee-only means, and how to find a fee-only financial advisor cover the questions worth asking before you hire anyone.

About Pavel Naruta

Pavel Naruta, Fee-Only Investment Adviser
Founder & Adviser Series 65 Passed · Fee-Only Fiduciary

My background is software. For nearly three years I built quantitative tools for a logistics firm, digging through large financial and freight datasets to find what the data actually shows. The habit of going past the surface number carries directly into how I read companies and build portfolios.

Narstar is a new firm. I passed the Series 65 and SIE exams, registered with Utah and Texas regulators as an investment adviser representative, and personally manage every client account. Your assets are held at Interactive Brokers (opens in new tab) in your own name. My regulatory filings are publicly available, and the conflicts of interest I have are disclosed in the Form ADV.
